Weinhaus Kerpen Erdener Treppchen Auslese is a white wine made from the Riesling variety grown in the Erdener Treppchen vineyard, on the German Moselle.
This vineyard adjoins the Ürziger Würzgarten and is so steep that stone steps were built into the hillside centuries ago so workers could better reach the vines. If the wines from Wehlener Sonnenuhr look like a graceful "dancer", those from Treppchen resemble muscular freestyle climbers. The iron-rich red slate soil produces wines that taste rich, tangy, and complex and have an intense mineral aftertaste.
This Auslese is slightly golden yellow in color, the aroma is characteristic with a touch of botrytis, noble sweet wine accompanied by an elegant, full-bodied, expressive and concentrated acidity, a little "bomb". And it is that a sunny October allowed to harvest grapes of great quality and health. The proportion of bortytis was very low.
