- Sauzet Puligny Montrachet 2018
The villages of Sauzet is a reference for those who love Puligny. When trying to describe what a great Puligny-Montrachet represents, nervousness is often one of the traits referred to.
The villages of Sauzet is a reference for those who love Puligny. When trying to describe what a great Puligny-Montrachet represents, nervousness is often one of the traits referred to. Such tension is what makes the wines of this tiny and charming town of the Cote d Or are among the greatest white wines in the world. It is just 235 hectares of vineyards that include some of the best known names in the world (Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet) in which the Domaine Etienne Sauzet, today in the hands of Gerard Boudot (who married a granddaughter of Etienne) and his daughter Emilie have a share of property. It is, as in all Burgundy, tiny portions of parcels that are, in themselves, tiny. The Domaine is a classic from Puligny-Montrachet whose wines are in huge worldwide demand, so our quotas are really tiny. Just a few bottles of the Grand Crus at best.
