In Germany, it was mainly the late ripening varieties that developed well from the beginning of October and in some places very successful Prädikat wines were produced. Many renowned wineries on the Moselle and Rhine rivers were able to produce very good Rieslings, including some excellent noble sweet wines of the Auslese classes.
