Zarate Balado 2018 MagnumBodegas Zarate
Balado is a vineyard in front of the original winery in Zarate (now the residence of Eulogio Pomares Sr.). Its name, Balado, suggests that the farm is surrounded by a wall (which in Galician they call balo). The vineyard is really small and is planted ungrafted. The wines have a beautiful minerality, the acidity that is the brand of the house and ages really well.

A magnum of 2006 that we could try in 2013 seemed to us an incredible freshness and youth, with memories of rose petals, talcum powder and the aromatic palette that should be expected from the Albariño in Meaño. One of our favorite homeland whites ..

Marc Hébrart has been a member of the Trésors de Champagne Club since 1985, and this cuvée is only produce in the best years. It comes from the oldest vineyards in the house, 60% from Pinot Noir de Mareuil and 40% from Chardonnay from the Grand Cru Chouilly. Long aging on lees and very light dosage, just 6 grams per liter.
6 months in French oak barrels and 6 months in bottle. Complex and exuberant aroma in which the varietal character merges with tropical fruit notes and with the smoky touches provided by the barrel aging. Its mouth is dense and creamy, of broad development and fresh acidity that evolves towards an extraordinarily long and balanced end, in which fine...
Made with grapes from their own vineyards in O Bolo, Valdeorras, with Godello aged between 24 and 45 years old, at about 680 meters. Vineyard work in organic. Selection of grapes, fermentation in French oak casks and aging for 4 months on its fine lees. Fatty, saline, mineral ... as the land of O Bolo requires.
Tras da Viña is a small plot of 0.6 hectares planted over 40 years ago with plant material from the payment El Palomar, emblematic of Zárate. Granite floor, elaboration in stainless and lees contact (without removing them), for 30 months. An authentic wine aged on lees with the best genetic material and a large soil. A great wine.
The Rully basic of the Domaine with which Vincent wants to mark the style of the house. The nose shows a good varietal character and certain minerality that adds complexity. To drink young, although some well-preserved bottles for more than 10 years have surprised us very pleasantly.
Godello, Albariño and Dona Blanca of schistose and slate soils of low production. Made in fudres of 500 and 600 liters. Aged first in French oak barrels of 600 liters and later in ovoid concrete tanks. Clarified with egg white, does not perform malolactic and is bottled without filtering.
