Crafted by winemaker Rodrigo Méndez and Raúl Pérez, the name "O Padriño" (The Godfather) pays homage to the ancient Galician winegrowers who planted and protected these magical, immortal vines that survived the phylloxera plague thanks to the sandy composition of the coastal soil. It is a masterpiece of heroic viticulture in the Salnés Valley (Rías Baixas). It comes from a single, legendary plot with pre-phylloxera vines, some between 150 and 200 years old, whose totemic branches grow on degraded granite soils (xabre). The climate is purely Atlantic: wild, humid, and cool, under the direct influence of the estuary.
