Description

Historically known as "The Terraces of Hell," the vineyard's heat is so intense that the vineyard workers can only work in the early hours of dawn to avoid exhaustion. It originates in the northern Rhône Valley (France), in the legendary "Chaillées de l'Enfer" vineyard. This vineyard, cultivated using heroic methods, is laid out on incredibly steep stone terraces atop decomposed granite soils (arzelle). The climate is Mediterranean with continental influences. The vineyard faces south and is nestled within a natural amphitheater that concentrates the heat intensely.
