It comes from the prestigious "Meix Chavaux" lieu in Meursault (Côte de Beaune, Burgundy). This vineyard sits on a north/northwest-facing slope with very fine, hard, calcareous soils. The continental Burgundian climate, where the plot's cool orientation mitigates the excessive heat of modern summers, is a key feature.
