Abadía Retuerta Le Domaine 2023

Located in the beautiful Monastery of Santa María de Rertuerta in Sardón de Duero (Valladolid), Abadía Retuerta has been operating for over 30 years among large vineyards, producing magnificent wines. It is located next to major wineries in the heart of the Golden Mile, although it is not included in the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. From there, the prestigious winemaker Ángel Anocibar produces wines, following the precepts established by Pascal Delbeck (Chateau Ausone), its ideologist. This is where the uniqueness of Abadía Retuerta's soils and the maximum expression of its terroir are recognized, understood as the climatic and geographical characteristics that endow its vineyards and grapes with unique qualities, and the personality of its wines. A quality, that of its wines, that displays a distinct identity and is governed by a single criterion: working with its own grapes, those sourced directly from its vineyards and produced in its own winery. LE DOMAINE is a vineyard located very close to the Douro River, on sunny pebble and sandy soils. A wine for aging and terroir made mostly from Sauvignon Blanc, with a touch of Verdejo added. Original and surprising, intense and characterful, full-bodied, unctuous, with a long, fresh finish.
