Description

Canada do Monte is a white wine made with the Arinto dos Açores variety by Antonio Maçanita at the Azores Wine Company. It comes from a farm of the same name located a few meters from the sea, where you can hear the crabs sing. After the devastating attack of phylloxera and powdery mildew at the end of the SXIX, a few vineyards survived in Hamem, in the case of Canada do Monte due to its sandy soils and its proximity to the sea, just 500 meters away. Mainly planted with Arinto from the Azores, there is a little less than 5% of Verdelho, Boal and Alicante Branco. Vinified in stainless steel and aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels, without batttonage.2023 vintage with a +95RP rating.
