Description

Folgasão is a white wine produced by Joana and António Maçanita in the Douro region of Portugal. This single-varietal Folgasão wine comes from vineyards located in Baixo Corgo at an altitude of 480 meters, offering a fresh, mineral, and pure expression of this traditional Portuguese grape. With a limited production of just 2,666 bottles, Folgasão stands out for its unique character and commitment to reviving heritage grape varieties.The grapes are hand-harvested in 18 kg boxes, followed by whole-cluster pressing at the winery. Fermentation takes place at 14°C in stainless steel tanks, where the wine is aged for 6 months to preserve its freshness and enhance its mineral profile.With a bright yellow color, Folgasão delivers a fresh and intense aroma, marked by citrus notes and a pronounced minerality. On the palate, it is tense and vibrant, with sharp acidity that highlights its crisp and refreshing character. Perfect for pairing with grilled fish, salads, and white meats, this wine is best stored at 6-8°C and served at 10°C to fully appreciate its freshness and elegance.
