Telmo and his company went to Rueda in 1996 to make a good white wine. They looked for lime floors and Verdejo grape, to try to people talks about a great Spanish white. As they could not fail, they chose to make a basic wine, easy falling into the temptation to mix with sauvignon, to sell well in the international market. They had that success they expected. Now looking at what Rueda has become, they have turned their Rueda wines around. Native grape, selected, looking for sobriety and typicality. They have been in that change for 10 years now, and God lives that they have succeeded. Basa is a wine that moves away from the classic stereotype of Rueda. A fresh drink with "terroir", which puts this Wheel on the right track to be a great wine.
