That Mauro is a reference among the red wines of our country, it is indisputable. They are many years of experience among the best vineyards of Tinto Fino, but also of other varieties that are not so native to Castilla y León (which form the Mauro tinto coupage). Therefore, when they present the first Mauro Godello with the 2013 vintage, it feels like something revolutionary. Already with the project channeled from two small plots of Villafranca del Bierzo in which the García family planted quality clones from Valdeorrras, the crops follow each other and Mauro Godello is shown as a great white wine, with the depth, the fat, and the minerality that we like. On the technical side, the grape goes through a film maceration after de-stemming, a fermentation in barrels of only partially new 500 liters, where it also takes place less than one year aging.
