Louis Lequin Batard Montrachet Grand Cru is a white wine made with the Chardonnay variety by the Lequin family from their vineyards in this very famous Grand Cru ce Burgundy, France. The Lequins produce a tiny production of bottles of a wine that has the intensity and complexity of the Grand Cru of the Côte d'Or, being magnificent both aromatically and texturally, with a fatty but at the same time ethereal profile. that makes us long for the next sip.The Lequin family has been a family of winegrowers since 1604. Therefore, more than four centuries have contemplated the Domaine although it is for a few years that Antoine and Cécile, young but well-trained, have taken the reins of this Domaine de Santenay. Santenay is aN appellation within Burgundy to which more and more attention is paid everyday. Part of the Cote de Beaune, it is the appellation in which the Cote dOr ends and, curiously, it is an area much more of red wines than of white wines as it happens in neighboring Chassagne and Puligny. But let's not stray from the topic, we are to explain about the Domaine Louis Lequin. Santenay has always had a certain rustic character, but the Lequins work with little extraction and have the good taste to keep the bottles for us for a few years during which the wines are refined and allow the burgundy delicacy to emerge to the delight of lovers of great wines from the iron fist in a silk glove.In the vineyard, they work in a respectful way, with natural fertilizers and without herbicides, using traditional tillage to remove grass when necessary. The vinification of the reds combines the whole bunch and the destemming in variable percentages and the aging is in French oak barrels with variable percentages of new oak depending on the cuvée.
