Escolinas Albarín Blanco is a single-varietal , native to the Principality of Asturias. 70% remains in a stainless steel tank and 30% ferments and ages with its lees in Asturian oak barrels from Tineo for three months. Fragrant and delicate wine that shows the verticality and character of the true Albarín. Escolinas bottles the terroir of Cangas del Narcea (Asturias, Spain) from the best native grapes. The Escolinas area is made up of a group of microfarms of just 0.6 hectares in Cangas del Narcea and other towns in the region. These small vineyards are not mechanizable, they suffer slopes of up to 30% together with their altitude of more than 500 meters above sea level, they constitute one of the few mountain vineyards in Spain. On these steep slopes, the vines survive on soils with a strong slate component, a particularity of the terroir that serves to self-regulate the vigor of the plant and gives rise to small productions of wines with a fine and elegant profile. Varieties such as Albarín Blanco, Verdejo Negro, Albarín Negro and Carrasquín have adapted perfectly to the extreme climate of Cangas and its slate soils, forming a set of varieties that give the wines character and personality.
