Description

Gorka Izagirre AMA is a white wine made by Gorka Izagirre with the Hondarribi Zerratia variety in the DO Bizkaiko Txakolina. Gorka Izagirre is a family project that evolves around the vineyard. Bertol Izagirre commands very current elaborations, with special emphasis on working with the local Hondarrabia Zerratia variety. AMA is the latest creation of the winery. A selection of Hondarrabi Zerratia grapes with an exceptional point of maturity that was harvested on October 23, 2015, in one of the hottest vintages in Vizcaya in memory. With AMA, a new horizon is opened in the evolution of Biscayan txakolis. A mature, subtle and enveloping wine with a complexity that surprises when you drink it. For the elaboration, part of the tear must, 90% was fermented in stainless steel and 10% in new fine-grained French oak barrels. After aging on the lees for 2 months, the resulting wines were brought together to be matured in a tank for 22 months.
