In the 1950s, Don Domingo Catena began buying Malbec from the vineyards of La Consulta. The La Consulta vineyard is of silty soil, with rounded rocks at the bottom. The combination of intense sunlight and cool nights produces a wine that Domingo appreciated for its intense purple color, aromas of black fruits and rich velvety tannins. Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
