One of the noblest sweet wines in the world is Tokaji and, when a winery is run by none other than Vega Sicilia, you can imagine that the result can only be extraordinary. 3 Puttonyos refers to the sugar level of the must used in its production, the lowest level being out of a maximum of 6. 100% Aszú berries (botrytized grapes) hand-picked in the vineyard. Mainly of the FURMINT variety 75%, HARSLÉVELÜ 20% and MUSCAT DE LUNEL 5%. According to the tradition of several centuries in the production of Aszú wine, 3 baskets (75 kg) of Aszú grains are added to a Gönc barrel (136 lts.) with excellent quality wine. Cold maceration of Aszú grapes (botrytized grapes) and furmint must for approximately 18 hours. Controlled fermentation in new Hungarian oak barrels for 60 days. Aged for two and a half years in new Hungarian oak barrels.
