Charles Heidsieck Collection Crayeres Rosé Millesimé 1985

This wine is part of the Collection Crayères, an exclusive series of historic vintages that Maison Charles Heidsieck ages in its legendary underground chalk cellars (crayères) in Reims before releasing them to the market with late disgorgement. The year 1985 is legendary in the Champagne region. It began with a devastating winter that saw record-breaking frosts as low as -30°C, destroying part of the vineyards. However, an exceptionally warm and sunny summer from July onwards saved the season, allowing for perfect and concentrated ripening of the grapes, resulting in one of the best vintages of the 20th century in terms of quality. It was crafted under the direction of the renowned cellar master Daniel Thibault. A blend with a clear Pinot Noir dominance (70%) complemented by Chardonnay (30%).
