Description

Champagne Bollinger B13 BRUT is a sparkling wine made by the Bollinger House in the prestigious Champagne region with the Pinot Noir variety. It is a Champagne Blanc de Noirs from 5 crus, of which 92% are Grands Crus and 8% Premiers Crus. The wines have aged in the bottle on their lees for more than 7 years. Interestingly, the Maison Bollinger (read /bolanllé/) is atypical from many points of view. Firstly, it is one of the few Maison de Champagne not based in the cities of Reims or Epernay, and has remained true to its location in the small village of Ay since 1829. Secondly, Bollinger is one of the few Maison de Champagne whose coupage is dominated by Pinot Noir (a red variety) instead of Chardonnay. The third distinguishing feature has to do with the provenance of the grapes which, over time, will become one of the most exciting Champagnes available to the Champagne lover. And it is that, unlike the vast majority of large houses, at Bollinger they are very clear that it is necessary to control the vineyards through ownership.
