The jars also have something to say here, Les prunes finish fermenting and is raised for six months in buried clay jars of one hundred and fifty arrobas. And why is it called les prunes? Because it wants to be the pure and fresh fruit that you find in a bush one summer afternoon, the delicate wild prune that has not yet matured but that already smells so good that this morning a bird has approached and about to give it a peck.
Robert Parker (91): The still rosé 2019 Les Prunes is part of the range called Les Filles d'Amalià that has a sparkling wine and will have a sweet wine too. This is really a blanc de noirs, but it comes out as a pale rosé, from 100% Mandó grapes matured in tinaja for six months. It has moderate alcohol (12%) and a pH of 3.09 with notable acidity, which makes it light and lively. It's a bright pink wine with an expressive nose with delicate notes of roses, more like a white than a red. This is a serious rosé with a dry and mineral texture, unusual in rosés. This is the third vintage for this wine, and the wine seems to have a little more depth than the 2018, which was a little sharper.
