Les Pagodes de Cos is a red wine made by Cos d'Estournel with 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot from its vineyards in Saint-Estephe, Bordeaux, France.
The harvest was carried out from September 10 to 24 with a yield of 39 hectoliters per hectare. The alcoholic strength is 13.28% with a pH of 3.85 and an IPT (total phenolic index) of 68. It is aged in French oak barrels, 30% new.
A medium to deep garnet purple in color, it emerges from the glass with lovely open aromas of stewed black plums, blackberries and warm cassis, plus savory hints of charcuterie, wood smoke, black truffles and bouquet garni. Medium-bodied, the palate is bursting with crisp black fruit flavors and dried herb accents, backed by pockets of freshness and well-handled grainy tannins, finishing with great length and a lively spring to its stride.
