Description
Márcio Lopes Selección Colección is a set of three wines made with native varieties by Márcio Lopes in the Portuguese Douro. Contains one bottle of each of the following three references: Proibido Vinha do Pombal: Produced only in exceptional years with fruit from the oldest vineyard that Márcio cultivates. It is a farm with shale soils planted with a variety of varieties (Alvarelhão, Bastardo, Tinta da Barca, Mourisco, etc.) in Quinta do Pombal, in Foz Côa, Douro Superior region. They are stepped on in an old press, ferment spontaneously and macerate for two months, after which they spend 15 months in used barrels. Only 750 bottles are produced. Proibido Vinha da Sofía: comes from an experimental farm planted in 2017 to reproduce the genetic material of Sousao plants from the oldest vine. It is called Viña Sofía and it has schist soil. Only 750 bottles are produced. Proibido Vale do Rio Pinhao: it comes from a vineyard planted more than 90 years ago in the Douro Superior. It is a wine inspired by the Mendiz Valley, located in Cima Corgo, and the vineyard is planted with Tinta Roriz of very low production, on schist soils typically from the Douro Superior. Only 700 bottles are made.
