A wine that is made with an aging that is usually between 12 and 14 months in 225-liter French oak barrels, managing to combine the freshness of the grapes near the sea, with the power of being red grapes and the complexity of the barrel. .
Forjas del Salnés is a small project whose journey began many years ago with D. Francisco Méndez Laredo who had his small winery as a harvester in Meaño and obtained numerous awards for his wines. The project of his grandson, Rodrigo Méndez, in the Salnés valley, has been one of the main sources of inspiration in Rías Baixas since its creation in the mid-2000s. The name he chose for his project, Forjas del Salnés, honors to his grandfather's iron business. Rodrigo, moved by the desire to produce reds in a white region, sought the help of Raúl Pérez, a key producer in Bierzo and other Galician regions, who encouraged him not to neglect the characteristic Albariños from Salnés.
