Spy Valley Pinot Noir 2019

Located opposite a US checkpoint, Spy Valley is one of New Zealand's most acclaimed growers. The 360-hectare vineyard is located in the lower Waihopai Valley and in the Wairau and Southern Valley regions of Marlborough. The oenology depends on Paul Bourgeois who manages a high-tech winery, located right in the middle of the estate. Like most Marlborough wineries, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc are Spy Valley's specialties. Despite the extensive vineyard, the harvest is carried out manually in individual blocks of vineyards and kept separately until the final blend. The bunches are mostly destemmed and fermented naturally in open vats. The wine ages in barrels for 11 months before blending.
