Description
It is a monovarietal red wine from Mencía from a vineyard in Portomourisco (Orense), whose soil is granite. Casas de Enriba is the 20-year-old vineyard that gives rise to this wine, located in a historic place near the Xares River. Partial de-stemming and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Maceration with skins and subsequent aging of 10 months in French oak barrels. Daterra Viticultores is Laura Lorenzo's new project, which was for many years in Dominio do Bibei. Daterra is a tribute to the winemakers who put their vines in Laura's hands. Since 2016, they have their own space, in the old town of Manzaneda, where up to seven references are made with the varieties of vineyards between 80 and 120 years in different municipalities. They work on different slopes, in different valleys, with different heights, with different microclimates and this is worth to see what variety best suits each site for the future.
