Domaine de Courteillac 2016Domaine de Courteillac
The Domaine de Courteillac is located on the highest part of the Entre Deux Mers plateau, southeast of Saint-Emilion after crossing the Dordogne. With a Merlot base and a little Cabernet, this Courteillac is made, which is the first Bordeaux that someone should try.
The Domaine de Courteillac is located on the highest part of the Entre Deux Mers plateau, southeast of Saint-Emilion after crossing the Dordogne. Its owner, Dominique Meneret comes from a family strongly linked to the wine industry and, not in vain, they have owned Saint Emilion. His first professional activity was as a businessman in the place de Bordeaux, specializing in Crus Classés, but in 1998 he acquired the Domaine de Courteillac from Stephane Asseo when he decided to make the Americas and found the LAventure winery in California. This small property of the maligned AOC Bordeaux Superieur is a magnificent example of the search for suitable plots for Bordeaux varieties (70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc) in an area vilified by so many producers, and a paradigm of meticulous workmanship. Not surprisingly, the soil from which the Domaine de Courteillac grapes are obtained is a perfect combination of clays, limestones and gravels on a fundamentally limestone subsoil, structurally similar to that of the best terroirs in Saint-Emilion. With the help in the early years (1998-2006) of Michel Rolland and, since 2007 with the advice of Stephane Derononcourt, winemaking prioritizes elegance and finesse over power. They look for fruit at its point of maturity and respect it to the maximum in a winery totally redesigned in 2000, with a room of 450 barrels, a third of which are renewed every year, an unusual effort at AOC Bordeaux Superieur. The result? A wine with character, fruity expression, balanced and with sweet tannins that can be drunk with pleasure in its fifth year after the harvest and that does not require you to sacrifice your pocket to drink a good wine with Bordeaux character.

We like pink Champagnes more and more, because they tend to have that touch of complexity that adds personality. In this selection we have the best of the three areas of the Cote des Blancs. A winery like Camille Savés that is made in the Montagne de Reims, from PInot Noir, and that has a rosé that can age very well. Marc Hébrart in the Vallée de la Marne...
In the 1950s, Don Domingo Catena began buying Malbec from the vineyards of La Consulta. The La Consulta vineyard is of silty soil, with rounded rocks at the bottom. The combination of intense sunlight and cool nights produces a wine that Domingo appreciated for its intense purple color, aromas of black fruits and rich velvety tannins. Aged for 12 months...
Pale straw yellow in color, with greenish iridescence. Very clean and bright. On the nose, the varietal character of Malvasia dominates with fruit aromas (apricot and peach) and notes of white flowers such as jasmine. Tasty, fresh, light and with a broad and harmonious finish. Pair with all kinds of fish, seafood and fresh cheeses.
The basic wine of Domaine Arlaud. In this small family Domaine of the Cote de Nuits the philosophy is that of a craftsman to get the best out of the magnificent vineyard heritage (which includes several Grand Cru such as Clos de la Roche, Bonnes Mares, Charmes Chambertin or Clos St. Denis). In the vineyard, they follow the organic precepts of biodynamics,...

In the elaboration of the Extra Virgin Oil the speed in the milling of the olive is fundamental. The 1st harvest day of Castillo de Canena guarantees precisely a rapid transformation of the freshly picked olive into one of the best oils on the market.
Pasta Negri's squid ink spaghetti is made from organic hard grain semolina. They also make caserecce, lumaconi or fusilli, ideal for dishes that require harder pasta such as a fresh summer salad, or this delicious spaghetti without the need for a lot of company, since it already has a lot of flavor. Very versatile, we also offer it natural, with Indian...
Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc would be an exotic mix in Burgundy. And a delight at the Rheinhessen. Although Klaus Peter Keller is known for his handling of the Riesling grape, he now presents us with a combination of two white varieties almost as aristocratic as that one. An affordable wine to enjoy a Keller wine at a great price.
