Verónica Ortega ROC 2017Verónica Ortega
To make ROC, 30% whole bunch in a steel tank, working very smoothly during fermentation (again, the fineness). The pressing is vertical and the malolactic is done in used burgundy barrels, as well as the aging of one year.
To understand what ROC is, we have to explain who Verónica Ortega is: a Jerez woman who has worked at Clos Erasmus, Álvaro Palacios, Comte Armand, Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Domaine Combier or Niepoort, and who in 2010 came to Bierzo to elaborate a great wine of mencía. He cultivates two very old vineyards, over 80 years old in Valtuille de Abajo, following an organic cultivation. The estates are of sandy-clay soils, with a multitude of different minerals but a strong sandy component that gives an aromatic finesse and a more precise size in the mouth, as a counterpoint to the muscular touch of the clay soils. To make ROC, 30% whole bunch in a steel tank, working very smoothly during fermentation (again, the fineness). The pressing is vertical and the malolactic is done in used burgundy barrels, as well as the aging of one year.

This wine is the ninth edition of La Boot de Manzanilla Navazos, all of them with a rabid Sanluqueño character, which this time comes from the same screeds as the previous edition No. 71, with the idea of underlining the authenticity of the original style. It is very helpful to have the possibility of accessing several dozen barrels and casks of...
El Enemigo Malbec is a wine of great structure and concentration, a cut that inspires and remembers the good times of the past and brings the historical and artisanal aspects of the cultivation of the vines and their vinification. It is a variety of Malbec 89%, Petit Verdot 5%, Cabernet Franc 6%, made with vineyards in Gualtallary, planted at an altitude...
The Frappato de Cos comes from vines planted for more than 15 years that are organically grown and ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeast. The delicacy of the variety and the terroir leads them to age the wine only in a cement tank and a subsequent short refinement in the bottle.
New Verónica Ortega wine from an old Mencía vineyard located in the town of Cobrana, and other local varieties such as Doña Blanca, Palomino and Godello. In this Kinki we are going to very light maturations, very low levels of alcohol and extraction, as well as combined aging in large barrels and 800-liter amphora that keep the fresh and light profile of...
Coming from the La Hormiga vineyard, of 1.58 hectares at an altitude of 800 meters, and which was planted in 1922 with a medium-high density red wine from Soria (3500 vines / Ha.) Sandy soils with clayey subsoil that regulates humidity between seasons. Manual harvest, the maceration and fermentation of the wine were especially slow and the wine needed 18...
Born with unique characteristics in the Gumiel area: San Cobate. Tempranillo selected from the 80 Ha that they have in this area. It begins its aging in Burgundy barrels and ends in tubs of more than 15 years, with staves of French and Austrian oak. The result: soil, aromatic rainfed plants and fineness of their upbringing.
