Georges Descombes Régnié Vielles Vignes 2018Georges Descombes
Georges Descombes' Régnié is possibly his lightest wine, with less density, a lot of florality and fruity in the nose with a spicy touch in the mouth. We especially like it for being what it is, for its subtlety and elegance.
Georges Descombes' Régnié is possibly his lightest wine, with less density, a lot of florality and fruity in the nose with a spicy touch in the mouth. We especially like it for being what it is, for its subtlety and elegance. As always, the vineyards are farmed without any pesticide or herbicides, although neither Georges nor Ghislaine Descombes enter into bureaucratic procedures to apply for certification. Their wines are wines of soul, with spirit.

Georges Descombes is one of the greats of Beaujolais. Located in a town called Vermont, in Morgon, its wines have true soul. Made with Gamay grown biodynamically, and with minimal addition of sulfur, its Morgon Vielles Vignes is one of our references in the AOC. As the French say, it is a digestive wine, one of those that feels you good.
Only Vijariego Negro of a young vineyard that suggests the maturity of Borja in the elaboration. It is light, it is not a wine that is chewed and its acidity is electrically fresh. The almost 12 months spent between 600 and 228 liter boots in French oak are very good. At no time is it doubted about its origin, the volcano is more than present.
100% Listán Negro. Relatively young vineyards that have from 15 to 40 years old, but all planted in Pie Franco. Vinified in stainless steel, 30% whole cluster and de-stemmed rest. Maceration for 20 days with little intervention, pressing and aging in 600 liter used barrels for 13 months.
Xisto Cru Tinto comes from two specific vineyard plots and tries to show the land, the vine and the region. Non-interventionist elaboration, whole-cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open wooden vats and aging in French oak barrels. Vineyards of more than 80 years with Rufete, Touriga Franca, Tinta Carvalha, Malvazia Preta, Alicante Bouchet and...
