Colares wines are a rarity. Portugal, once again, offers us unique wines. Grown on the beach, north of Lisbon, in strains that have never been attacked by phylloxera and in difficult conditions of humidity, fog and strong winds that are great for kitesurfers. Wines that are drunk very old and that have a tannicity comparable to Barolos. Low color, light, high acidity, low alcoholic and salty is the way to define these eccentric wines that rarely disappoint. Viúva Gomes, already in the hands of the 5th generation, is one of the few wineries that maintain these traditional wines that should be exhibited in the Lisbon art museum but that are only found in some of the best Garrafeiras in the country.
