Dom Arlaud Chambolle Musigny 2023

The Arlaud have a little less than one hectare of vineyard in Chambolle Musigny, also distributed in several lieu dits (les Bussières, les Chardannes, les Herbues, les Gammaires), from which they make a small amount of Villages level wine, faithful representative of the delicacy of this commune, perhaps the most ethereal of the Cote de Nuits. In this small family Domaine of the Cote de Nuits the philosophy is that of a craftsman to get the best out of the magnificent vineyard heritage (which includes several Grand Cru such as Clos de la Roche, Bonnes Mares, Charmes Chambertin or Clos St. Denis). In the vineyard, they follow the organic precepts of biodynamics, leaving aside esoteric aspects. All the work in the vineyard is done manually, as well as the vintage, which is chosen at a selection table and worked in the cellar by gravity. Without enzymes, yeasts that enter the deposit with grapes are used. To achieve the highest quality, they consider it essential to reduce the yields of the vineyards up to 30 hl/ha for the Grand Cru and up to 48 hl/ha for which it can be one of the best generic Burgundies we have tried (of course with a performance closer to a Premier Cru than a Bourgogne is not surprising).
