Description
La Media Vuelta Tinto is a single-varietal Verdejo Negro, a grape grown on the steep slopes of the Cangas de Narcea region in the Principality of Asturias. Verdejo Negro is also known by other names such as Merenzao (Galicia), Maturana (La Rioja), and Trosseau (France). Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for six months in French oak barrels, it is a clear example of the common denominator of most wines from the area: Atlantic and mineral. Structure and elegance. Bodegas Las Danzas is a young project (2019) led by Carmen and Joaquin, a couple who have dedicated their lives to winemaking. She was part of the team at the now-defunct Pesgos winery, and he has always been attentive to the care of their precious family vineyard. Cangas is the smallest Denomination of Origin in Spain, comprised of a small group of winegrowers and winemakers who are achieving remarkable results in their winemaking. They work primarily with native grape varieties such as Albarín Blanco and Negro, Verdejo Negro, and Carrasquin. Very old vineyards planted on steep slate soils convey the true history of viticulture introduced to the region by Benedictine monks.
