Description
Hace quince años Josefina Martín Berdugo y su hijo Antonio iniciaron su aventura en el mundo del vino a partir de un viñedo de 10 hectáreas plantadas en una terraza en la confluencia de los ríos Duero y Arandilla, en Aranda de Duero. El terreno de aluvión y abundante canto rodado era de una pobreza tal, que hacía inviable cualquier otro cultivo. Después de la viña y la venta de uva a otras bodegas, no sin mucho sacrificio e ilusión ya que el proyecto es 100% familiar, decidieron dar el paso siguiente: la elaboración de vinos. Querían hacerse un hueco en la pujante oferta de vinos de Ribera del Duero y apostaron por ofrecer unos vinos modernos, más afrutados y elegantes; que trataran de añadir algo nuevo al cada vez más curioso grupo de amantes del vino. Un vino para disfrutar y llegar a un público inquieto y sensible a los detalles. El puntal del proyecto es el fruto y eso se nota. A pesar de contar con una viña joven, las podas y otras prácticas meticulosas efectuadas durante todo el ciclo de la vid, aseguran una maduración fenólica óptima. La vendimia, que se efectúa a mano, permite completar la selección del fruto desde el campo. La elaboración trata de expresar el carácter del pago de la forma más natural posible: empleando levaduras autóctonas (mediante un pie de cuba que se prepara con uvas procedentes de una zona selecta del viñedo y su siembra posterior) y extrayendo la esencia del fruto mediante un control meticuloso de las temperaturas de fermentación y los abundantes remontados. El filtrado previo al embotellado es muy somero.
