The Clos de la Roilette is a beautiful estate on the Fleurie side that borders the Moulin à Vent. Its name comes from a famous horse that won numerous races almost a hundred years ago and was very famous in France, to the point that one of the ancestors of Alain Coudert -current owner- gave the name to the vineyard and by extension to the wines. The horse can be seen, by the way, on the label. La Cuvée Tardive is 100% from the Clos vineyard, from which the oldest areas (around 80 years) are selected. Its name, Tardive, does not refer to a later harvest, nor to a different vinification. Simply because it is a wine that takes longer to develop in the bottle.
