Cyprien Arlaud Nuits Saint Georges PC Cuvée Joseph 2023

Cyprien Arlaud continues to rent vineyards to have more bottles with which to satisfy his many followers. And, furthermore, in the case at hand, that of this Nuits Saint Georges Premier Cru Cuvée Joseph, does so with a nod to the history of the Domaine, since Joseph Arlaud was the founder of what is now Domaine Arlaud, and the the architect of the winery having that magnificent building that is the salt barn. But let's go to the wine. Cuvée Joseph is made with grapes from two vineyards that Cyprien Arlaud rents in Nuits Saint Georges. These are called Les Crots (located above Les Pruliers) and Argilleres (located south of the commune, near Premeaux Prissey). These are two vineyards in the upper part of the hillside with impeccable exposure, Premier Cru territory of a commune in which there is no Grand Cru because its mayor, almost a hundred years ago, thought that qualifying the vineyards as Grand Cru would only serve to pay more taxes. Grapes are harvested a little later than usual in Arlaud to obtain a maturity of the tannins typically chewy of NSG. In short, a great new wine from Cyprien Arlaud. Now in Coalla.
