Vantorosso Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva 2017

Vantorosso Amarone Riserva della Valpolicella is a red wine from the Italian Veneto. It is made from grapes planted in the DOCG Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, in Fumane, near Verona. They are vines planted at about 400 meters of altitude with a southeastern exposure, on very mixed soils in which clay predominates but with a limestone component and also pebbles.It is harvested by hand at the end of September and slowly raisined indoors for 100 days to be pressed and vinified in the January following the harvest. Fermentation is slow, in steel, for 25 days and it ages in new French oak barrels for 36 months followed by another 24 months in the bottle.Like good Amarone, it is bright red with a trim that shows its concentration and aging. The nose is sweet, concentrated, powerful, with cherry jam and blue flowers, tobacco and pepper that perfectly complement certain balsamic notes. In the mouth it is very sweet, fruity and the tannic load cleanses the mouth. It goes great with game also with meats with a powerful flavor such as oxtail. And, of course, also with chocolate, one of the classic pairings. We suggest serving it at 20ºC.
