Alonso del Yerro Paydos 2008

Viñedos Alonso del Yerro was founded in 2002 with the ambition of making great wine in Ribera del Duero. The structure is simple, with a deeply involved family and the technical advice of Stéphane Derenoncourt, a renowned expert whose work has produced some of the world's greatest wines, especially in Bordeaux. But it's not just winery work; the family-owned vineyards are cultivated under the guidance of another great talent, Claude Bourgignon. Not content with working in Ribera del Duero, they developed a small project under the PAYDOS brand, with the same philosophy and structure but under the TORO designation of origin. PAYDOS comes from a selection of plots with clay-limestone and granite soils, producing a well-rounded wine full of energy and depth. It comes from 80-year-old Tinta de Toro varietals, from one of the best areas of Morales de Toro. Harvested by hand for an exclusive production of just 5,000 bottles.
