As Olgas Tinto is a red wine produced by winemaking siblings Joana and António Maçanita in the Douro region of Portugal. This wine comes from mixed vineyards with 11 grape varieties, planted 90 to 110 years ago in the Carlão area of Cima Corgo, at an altitude of 480 meters. The vines grow on soils transitioning from schist to granite, with an average yield of 1200 kg/ha, reflecting the diversity and richness of the Douro's terroirs.The harvest is carried out manually, using 18 kg boxes, with a winemaking process that combines partial destemming with whole clusters. The maceration lasts 40 days, and the wine is aged for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels, highlighting its authenticity and unique character.With a light, open ruby-violet color, As Olgas Tinto offers notes of red fruits and balsamic aromas. On the palate, it delivers volume, texture, and great depth, with firm and persistent tannins. It pairs perfectly with spiced red meats, game dishes, and cheeses. It is recommended to store at 12°C, serve at 16°C, and enjoy at 18°C to fully appreciate its complexity and elegance.
