Description
Matas Altas is a red wine made by Bodegas Cerrón with the Monastrell variety planted in their old vineyards in Jumilla. Matas Altas is a village wine that marksthe character of the old vineyards planted free standing in the municipality of FuenteÁlamo. They are vineyards on calcareous soils that mark a profile of wines with full maturity and concentration, while being fresh, agile and fine. It is aged for 11 months in 5,000-litre foudres and 500-litre used barrels. At Bodegas Cerrón they know very well what they want and they work to achieve it. They belong to the DO Jumilla, and they search with great effort for old, pre-phylloxera vineyards, at altitude and fresh orientations, to produce wines, mainly of the Monastrell variety, with a Mediterranean character and complexity. Very interesting wines that will give surprises and good times.
