Description
Chateau Palmer has 52 hectares of vineyards, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are represented in equal parts, with a small proportion of Petit Verdot added. The vinification is carried out in truncated cone-shaped stainless steel tanks, variety by variety, micro-plot by micro-plot. After blending, the wine is matured in Bordeaux barrels for approximately 20 months, with racking every three months. The wine is not filtered but is clarified with egg white. The Palmer style is that of a Grand Margaux. Many of us think that the level and consistency that it has shown in recent years puts it more on a par with a Deuxieme Cru Classé (and a super second, no less), than a Troisieme. There are few properties in Margaux that can boast the breed, the fleshiness and the structure that Palmer has year after year. Of course, there are few properties whose vineyards are located on the good part of the D2 road (between the motorway and the Garonne), as is the case of Chateau Palmer.
