Robert Parker (94): Their flagship classical red changed radically in 2016, and since then, it's been a blend of 80% Monastrell and 20% Cariñena. The 2019 Maduresa follows that recipe with a small adaptation, as the complement to Monastrell is now 10% each Cariñena and Mandó. It fermented with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeast in stainless steel and had only 10 months of aging in 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels. It's austere with very integrated oak and great harmony, very Mediterranean and expressive, very harmonious and accessible at this very early age. This is without a doubt the vintage of Maduresa with more finesse, freshness and nuance. It might seem irrelevant, but I think the 10% (unoaked) Mandó has made a big difference... 20,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2020.
