The Volnay Beau Regard is a red wine made by François Raquillet and his daughters Jeanne and Emmanuelle using Pinot Noir from their vineyards in Volnay, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, France.
Beau Regard is one of the lieu dits of Volnay. Located high on the hillside, just above the premier crus of this commune of the Côte de Beaune that does not have any Grand Cru. This lieu dit is located next to the lieu dits En Blanches and Le Village and just above Taillepieds and Clos des Chênes. A privileged site, therefore, to make great Pinot Noir wines.
The grapes are selected in the vineyard and, again, at the entrance to the winery. They are fermented in cement, there is a cold fermentation at fourteen degrees and the fermentation lasts between 16 and 18 days, after which it is pressed, after eighteen months in Burgundian barrels, barely 30% new, it is bottled.
It is a wine of great finesse as befits its pedigree, while still retaining the freshness typical of the reds of the Côte de Beaune. An ideal wine to understand what Volnay is.
