A Liberdade is a red wine crafted by Antonio Madeira in the Dão region of Portugal. This wine hails from vineyards cultivated using biodynamic methods, situated at the foothills of the Serra da Estrela.80% of the grapes used in this wine come from a 20-year-old Touriga Nacional vineyard, while the remaining 20% originate from a 50-year-old field blend vineyard. Its winemaking and aging process stand out for their absence of added sulfites or oenological products, focusing instead on natural methods that showcase the terroir and the climatic conditions of the year.Alcoholic fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in a lagar, followed by malolactic fermentation. Subsequently, the wine matures for 9 months in stainless steel tanks. It is bottled in the June following the harvest without clarification or filtration, thus preserving its salinity, gustatory characteristics, and potential for evolution in the bottle.Its aroma offers citrus notes, particularly of bergamot, accompanied by fruit. On the palate, it reveals electricity and potency, coupled with pleasant salinity and fine tannins that encourage further enjoyment. The finish is savory, long, and intense, leaving a lasting impression on the palate.
