The Syrah of this monovarietal comes from vines of about 20 years, with a medium slope, clay and limestone in the lower part and a granite layer in the upper part. The grapes are destemmed from 85% to 100%, depending on the vintage. Maceration in concrete tanks for four weeks. Aged in barrels for 12 months, with 20% in new barrels and eight months in a cement tank. Wine with character, aromas and flavors of candied red fruit, and delicate tannins.

He has terroirs and wineries spread across half of Europe, from the Rhone Valley, the place where he was born, to Roussillon, Australia, Portugal and Spain, in areas where no one would dare, he insists on getting all the juice possible. And it succeeds. Proof of this is that in 2017, it received the 100 Parker points in nine of its wines. Bigger words, but they don't cloud your goals. In fact, when asked if he has achieved everything in the world of wine, he answers a resounding no. Explain that everything changes, from the general taste of people through the climate, to the soil, in the immediate future, they will evolve. They are influential elements in wine, but changing, so you will continue working to achieve the best possible results by adapting to the present moment.
One of those wineries that he acquired in recent times is Ferraton, north of the Rhone. In 2006 and after eight years as a director for Michel Ferraton, the son of Jean O¨ens, Chapoutier took over the reins of the winery.
