Description

G d'Estournel is a red wine made from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon by the Cos d'Estournel team in Bordeaux, France. The Merlots from the Goulée vineyard in the north of the Médoc are of exceptional quality in 2020. In a more extreme climate scenario than in Saint-Estèphe because it was even more arid, the vines, with an average age of 35 years, knew how to resist thanks to its deep roots and the proximity of the Gironde and the ocean, which brings freshness and minerality. It is a wine with a unique profile because it combines the aromatics and balance of a fresh vintage with the quality of tannins and acidity of a warm vintage. Carried away by the sweetness of Merlot, G d'Estournel 2020 is above all sweet, marked by iodized notes and a touch of pepper that give it great energy.
