Description
In the Cote Blonde, on schist soils, Stéphane Ogier produces this Cote-Rotie, in La Belle Hélène. It is a estate of just half a hectare with South orientation planted in 1958 with very high density, 10,000 feet. The harvest is manual, 50% of the whole bunch is kept, and it ferments in stainless steel, after which it is aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. Despite the fact that Ogier's plot wines are all sensational, La Belle Hélène is perhaps the famous one. A wine that needs about four or five years after the harvest.
