One of our oldest direct import wines, and now in the last great vintage, 2019. Coming from the estate located just above the house and cellar of Dominique Piron, this wine comes from a lieu-dit of the Morgon AOC, called Cote du Py. Located on a hillside of volcanic origin, the soils are granite and basalt, and give rise to a wine in which the fruit is cherry and has a remarkable spicy touch. With two or three years, it tends to pinoter (transform its aromatic profile to that of a Pinot Noir). Essential. Dominique is like his wines: restless, vibrant but at the same time with a seriousness that defines not only his personality but his determination both in the vineyard and in the winery. He firmly believes in the richness of the different Crus and in the difference that the different terroirs suppose in the different interpretations of the range and that vinifies separately. From the richness of the body of the Morgon Cote du Py, to the impressive minerality of its Chenas Quartz, Dominique Piron wines are displayed in a panoply of commendable styles. The presentations of its wines are very careful, with good bottles and beautiful youthful and friendly labels as only fifty years as Dominique can be.
