Description

Yjar is the wine that Telmo Rodríguez makes with Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, Granegro, and Rojal from Finca Remelluri, Telmo's great red wine in Rioja, Spain. The history of Finca Remelluri is monastic, as early as 1420 the monks of the Toloño Monastery were cultivating Finca Herremelluri, which today is the Rodríguez family's coat of arms. Located between 600 and 800 meters above sea level in the foothills of the Sierra de Toloño, it is located in the triangle between Labastida, San Vicente, and Peñacerrada, a magical limestone triangle of Rioja Alavesa. The wine is made, like all Telmo wines, with great precision, seeking aromatic and textural richness. To this end, after vinification, the wine is aged for 30 months in 1,500-liter foudres and in Bordeaux and 500-liter barrels, always made of French oak.
