Description
Yjar is the wine that Telmo Rodríguez makes with Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, Granegro, and Rojal grapes from the Remelluri Estate, Telmo's flagship red wine in Rioja, Spain.

The history of the Remelluri Estate is monastic, as the monks of the Toloño Monastery were already cultivating the Herremelluri Estate in 1420, which the Rodríguez family now uses as their emblem.

Located between 600 and 800 meters above sea level in the foothills of the Sierra de Toloño mountain range, it lies within the triangle formed by Labastida, San Vicente, and Peñacerrada, a magical, limestone triangle of the Rioja Alavesa region.

Like all of Telmo's wines, this wine is made with great precision, seeking aromatic and textural richness. To achieve this, after vinification, the wine is aged for 30 months in 1500-liter foudres and 500-liter Bordeaux barrels, all made of French oak.

Notable scores for the 2017 vintage:
96 points – Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate)
