Challao comes from two plots of clay-silty and calcareous components in the upper part of the town with the potential to age for many years, with the character of the place, reflecting the chalk of the soil and the cold climate of the nearby Sierra de Cantabria. 40% of the entire bunch is trampled on foot and 60% is destemmed but not crushed. Fermented in concrete vats and aged for 24 months in wooden foudres. Great wine.

Dominio del Challao is a project of Manu Michelini, a winegrower with his family in Argentina, Uruguay and Spain together with Carlos Fernandez, a producer and winegrower for generations widely rooted in his family project. The town of Labastida, in La Rioja, is what inspires them to make elegant, complex and long-lasting wines. There they bring together five owned plots that constitute 6 hectares of 100% biodynamic vineyards cultivated with animal traction. The vineyards are located in different valleys of the town of Labastida.
