RP97 The Château Pichon Baron 2000 just keeps getting better and better. Maybe the magnum format played its part, but nevertheless...just...wow. This is an ancient left bank with the keys to the top drawer. It has an incredibly precise, mineral-driven bouquet, with intense black fruit infused with aromas of cedar and graphite. He reeks of Pauillac in an almost uncompromising but convincing way. The palate is structured, elegant and effortless, extraordinarily pure and unfailingly youthful. This is a Pichon Baron saying, "You haven't seen anything yet." You could address this now if you wanted, but smart people will wisely protect it for another decade and rejoice from 2025 onwards.
